Idaho was positioned 16th between North Dakota and Georgia in US News & World Report's 2019 rankings recently released. Last year Idaho was ranked 12th, and 32nd in 2017.
Our state performed best in the categories of Economy at 6th and Crime & Corrections at 8th, with the lowest rankings in Opportunity at 35th and Education at 33rd among the 50 states evaluated.
Idaho's Infrastructure and Health Care rankings were also in the middle of the pack.
Meantime, the top three states this year are: Washington, New Hampshire and Minnesota. What states rank lowest? Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana.
