US Commercial Real Estate Price Growth Slows in March as Deal Volume Slips
Annual growth in US property prices slowed in March to the most modest pace since 2011, according to Wyatt Avery from Real Capital Analytics. Similarly, the cadence of dealmaking is also slowing with investment volume down 11% in the Q1 of 2019 compared to the same quarter of 2018.
Still, some sectors of the commercial market are showing strong growth. For example, Industrial prices grew 8% over the prior year, and Apartment prices remained strong with a 7.3% increase YOY. Central Business District Offices lagged with a YOY uptick of 4.2%.
